A place to relax, enjoy and keep secret

Kalkan Nightlife

After dark Kalkan’s busy maze of streets come alive with local shops and businesses selling all sorts of handicrafts, Turkish carpets, jewellery, ceramics, clothing and more. Shopping in Kalkan is a great experience and you shouldn’t pass on the offer of a glass of ‘Cay’ (Turkish tea or Apple tea) as token of appreciation for you custom. Kalkan is well known for it’s roof terraces restaurants. As you look around, it’s lovely to see the stepped ‘terrace’ of other surrounding restaurants and fellow diners enjoying the atmosphere. Twinkling lights, the aroma of good cooking, the chatter of waiters and general buzz of background laughter and traditional music really gives Kalkan a magical feel. The view from many roof top restaurants overlooking the harbour especially after dark can only be described as ‘romantic’. Although Kalkan is a relatively small town it does have a considerable amount of restaurants and bars. Kalkan isn’t effected by mass tourism and therefore the night scene tends to be a lot more sophisticated than many of the larger resorts in Turkey. A typical evening in Kalkan would be spent at one of the many superb restaurants dotted all over town and for those who like to party a little later, the harbour is a popular area for music and cocktail bars.
